Removable Arms

Have you guys ever wanted your arms to be removable? Lately I've been thinking that might be a good idea. I like my arms and all, and consider them quite handy (pun intended) but I wish I could remove them at night in bed. They are always getting in the way. If you're a back sleeper you're probably o.k. but if you're a side sleeper they are an annoyance. If you could just take them off and hang them right next to your nightstand until morning then I wouldn't have to adjust myself so much to get to sleep. I have to lay in the middle of the bed and stretch my arm straight out until it reaches the edge of the bed. No other option is comfortable. I love to have from my waist down laying down flat on my stomach but have the top part of my body on its side but the arm is too smashed. If I could just un-hook it then no more scrunched shoulder. And if you ever want to spoon, forget about it. Where does that arm go that isn't wrapped around your honey's waist? Now I know when I dated I use to be able to spoon for hours but now in my old age I care about comfort and that arm on the underneath side has no where to go but some smooshed and cramped position. Hence, the removable arms. The only disadvantage I could see to my plan is that I suppose they could get stolen by some guy who breaks into your home at night, then life would suck. Although most of us have a pair of arms so there wouldn't be a high demand for them but there's enough people withour a limb that might make stealing them a booming business. So maybe we better stick to non-detachable arms for now until I come up with a better solution. I've thought about having a bed with a crevice put into the mattress where your shoulder and arm could slide into, kind of like when you get a massage and your face is put into those face pillows so you can lay face down. But you can see the problem with that---where do you put the indent, how big, and plus it's probably going to get too hot for your arm. Jeff loves to have his elbows out to the side. He often sleeps with his hands on his stomach and elbows poking me because I have to sleep right in the center of the bed in order for my arm to have a place to go. Have you ever tried to sleep with your hands on your stomach? Your hands are higher than your elbows so you lose all your blood to your hands and they fall asleep. He must have some good circulation to keep the blood moving upward. He's not so much the problem though cause he is really still and stays on his side; it really is that arm that gets in the way. Just think how nice it would be to have a totally flat side to lay on. Enough of my neurosis.

Alli promoted your blog, I'm her fav uncle so I thought it'd be okay to visit. Removable arms is an interesting thought, never thought about that but what if you get an itch? I like your earlier idea of 365 kissing days, better. Gotta try that with my better half. Feel free to visit Alli's black sheep.

I think your blog will bring me much joy and inspiration--okay, that's corny, but I think I'll love to visit for a good laugh! Feel free to drop by my blog anytime so you can see what Alli's favorite aunt is doing. :o)

Soooo.... I was filled with fear and trepidation as I opened your blog. Will I see naked bottoms on the beach? Read about a truly cruel April fools day joke played on a sleeping husband or possibly read about s-e-x with your bishop?

But alas, I was relieved (and slightly disappointed) to read about removing ones arms... as a side sleeper I can totally relate!
